Holland

Tamara lives in Curacao, which is part of the former Dutch Antilles, located east of Venezuela and close to Aruba and Bonaire.

For her, life is perfect as long as there is water nearby. Being born a daughter of a sailing couple, no one was really surprised that she wanted to move to a tropical island.

Holland has been her home for 19 years, followed by Budapest, then Curacao, where she met her sailor, fell in love, and decided to return to the island (and him).

In August 2016, she took the big leap to start a new life across the ocean. She found a job where she is surrounded by local people which has taught her a lot about herself and her adaptability (or the lack thereof perhaps?). Another job she has with her boyfriend is a boat charter company where they rent their yacht to private groups of people. She rather prefers to call it a hobby that got out of hand and she shares this passion with her boyfriend, who is the captain of the yacht. Tamara loves to travel but for now has decided to settle in Curacao for a while and see where life’s journey will take her.

The Gift

The Gift

When my husband and I decided to uproot our family from Kentucky- from the only place, people, and life we have ever known- and move to a tiny island in the Caribbean, it was of course met with so many remarks to the tune of "Oh My Gosh, THAT'S AMAZING!", "You are...
