At the end of 2008, her husband came back home with the suggestion to try for a position on the beautiful island of Bonaire. Without thinking longer than 1 second, she said, “YES!” One year later, they moved to this rural, quiet little gem in the Caribbean.

Bonaire is an island in the Leeward Antilles, together with Aruba and Curacao, it forms the group known as the ABC islands, less than a hundred miles off the north coast of Venezuela.

Going as a young adventurous couple, they explored the rest of the Caribbean and took some nice trips in South America, then returned to the Netherlands with a little toddler and one “bun in the oven” in 2013.

Again, in 2016, another opportunity arose and that was a position on the island of Sint Maarten, the Dutch side. That is where they are now, with the four of them and again, are mesmerized by the Caribbean beauty. This is where they plan to live for as long as possible.
