California and Colorado

Growing up in Southern California, Karen dreamed of the day she would leave the city and venture into the wild. As soon as she completed grad school, she moved to Durango, Colorado and started a life of mountains, fresh air, and eventually motherhood. After 20 years of Rocky Mountain High, she left Colorado for the Big Island of Hawaii in what she considers “the perfect storm” of life circumstances.

That turned out to be one of the best decisions of her life. In Hawaii, she found her true self, started writing, and began a life free of other’s expectations.

Today, Karen runs a small non-profit dedicated to sharing Aloha with visitors to the Hawaiian Islands who experience adversities. She also write stories about island travel, food and dining, human interest, and arts and entertainment.

She looks forward to sharing some of these stories with you and encourages you to contact her with any comments, or just to introduce yourself and say, “Aloha.”

Mahalo nui loa!
