    1. I was just wondering if there’s anyone that I could contact directly for information and help on relocating. Thanks!

    2. Greetings!!

I was just offered a job on St. Croix teaching at a public high school. I was wondering if anyone could tell me more about the public schools on the islands as well as answer some questions about relocation (I’ve been looking at apartments in the area, but I’m not sure about the different neighborhoods).

      Thanks so much!

      • Hi Katie,

Congrats! We currently only have one writer in St Croix (maybe you could be our 2nd one! 😉 ) and she doesn’t have her own site. I’ll check and see if she wouldn’t mind you emailing her. In the meantime, have you checked out ? They might be your best resource. Best wishes!

    3. Thanks! I have been using this site and it has definitely been a god-send. I’m noticing on different blog sites that people stress enrolling kids in private school as opposed to public school…I’m just hoping there’s not something I’m missing about the quality or safety of public schools on STX.

    4. My boyfriend and I are moving to St. Thomas on March 24th. I was wondering if anyone knew of a pet friendly place we could stay until we find our long term rental home? We are opening a business in the Tutu mall area so close to there would be great but open to everything. We are working with a realtor so we are thinking we only need the short term place to stay for a week or so. I’d be grateful for any help or ideas. Thank you in advance!

      • Congrats on your upcoming move! I’m not sure of any specific places on island that would welcome pets, but perhaps the VI Moving Center website might be a helpful resource. You might also be able to find privately owned villas that would accept pets through VRBO or AirBnB. Best wishes to you!

    5. Similar experience here in Grand Cayman. We live on the beach. I can’t keep my two year old out of the water and her goal is to catch a curly tail lizard. She once looked at a green shag rug bent down, stroked the rug in amazement and said ooh grass! Lol

    6. Does South Padre Island Texas count as a “rock” ? I usually refer to the island as my sand bar!! I’d love to learn more about joining the women who live on rocks if SPI would be considered 🙂

      • I’m glad you found us, Alexandra! Currently, we’re just sticking to contributors from tropical islands, but if anything changes, I’ll let you know. In the meantime, I’ll be interested to hear if you can relate to a lot of what’s shared here. 😉 Thanks for the note!
